Description Of Work:
We had many small things that needed to be done, and the owner came promptly to give us an estimate. We have an eave in our house, and had part of the wall removed and a rod put in to make it a closet. We also had the master bedroom painted and the areas around the exterior doors repainted. Lastly, we had our porch re-screened and had the outside stairs made up to code with balusters. The deck was also timber locked to the house.
Comments:
The work started when promised and the whole thing took about 4 days. The carpenter was extremely professional, and did excellent work. He worked very quickly, and even went out of his way to avoid walking on the carpeting without being asked. The painter came on the 3rd day, and was finished the same day with the bedroom, and did a superb job. He even touched up some areas we had messed up when we tried to paint the bedroom the year before! When he arrived we figured out that we may as well ask him to do the exterior doors. That was easily added on to the job list, and ended up being thrown in for no additional charge! The owner popped by several times to make sure everything was going well, and stopped by afterward to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction.

Gutted and rebuilt two and a half bathrooms, expanding the half into a full, as well as supervising two attic makeovers. Gave estimates, pulled permits, screened subcontractors, supervised, did much of the technically demanding work himself. Bill subcontracted electrical and plumbing, but did the demo, framing, blueboard, plaster, marble tiling, granite vanity, carpentry, finish work, drawings, and everything else himself with his crew. He did not consider the job done until I was satisfied.
Comments:
Bill Germaine is a superior craftsman who is not pompous about it. His crew, especially Vincent, does the highest quality work I have ever seen, and I have had several contractors work for me. Bill negotiated price with the subcontractors to fit this project in to my budget. He beat the price of the six other contractors I interviewed. I had him do some smaller jobs first so I could see his work.

They removed our old roof and installed a new one on our house and in law quarters.
Comments:
They explained what had to be done, answered all questions and kept me informed on when they would start. They did work over two days (which they said). The owner of business kept coming by to check on the progress. When it started to rain he sent extra people to help get the main part of the roof done. When it was all done the owner went around the house to check on the clean up. The owner returned phone calls and was willing to answer all questions. He even called for a follow up.

He gave us a competitive quote. Brought samples to choose materials. Asked for 50% deposit. Said he'd be back the following week to do the job. Arranged a dumpster, materials to be delivered. Showed up and did the job in one day and a few hours the next day. Great experience. Thoroughly cleaned up yard afterwards. Used high quality material and removed gutter guard product before replacing roof. Replaced gutter guard product after replacing roof.
